Welcome to Reggio Academy!
Reggio Academy is always in passionate pursuit of settings and approaches that will inspire the best in young children’s development through arts, language, and nature education. Bruno Ciari, a great inspiration to Loris Malaguzzi’s Reggio Emilia approach, believed that “education should liberate childhood energy and capacities.”
We believe children express themselves through many different means – art, spoken and written language, dance, etc – when they are involved in rich and meaningful experiences, especially experiences close to the natural world.
Our keen interest has been, and continues to be, the language children use and the symbols they make as they seek to build relationships with each other, with adults, and with the natural world. We encourage our educators to invite families and other members of the community to participate in our school to enable the staff to work collectively and elaborately with our community. Reggio Academy is the place where rich projects based on children’s and teachers’ explorations and discoveries unfold. We have a massive focus on language and on the multitude of arts media used by our very young children to discover and express their ideas.
